However, Gomez is probably best known for her portrayal of Alex Russo on the Disney Channel original series, “Wizards of Waverly Place” and romantic comedy, ‘Monte Carlo.’ This Grand Prairie, Texas native has sure come a long way from her appearances on ‘Barney & Friends.’

Early on in her career, it was reported that Selena Gomez ate a typical meal plan that consists around 1,750 calories per day with healthier breakfasts and lunches, and carbohydrate-laden dinners, such as lasagna and full Italian spreads. [1]. She is also said to couple her diet with regular exercise.

In August 2010, it was reported that 16-year-old Selena Gomez weighed between 100 and 110 pounds with a height of 5’2″.

In 2011, Selena’s manager appeared on the television program, ENews, and accidentally leaked out that the actress weighed 120 pounds at the time.

Selena’s thin frame has been at the center of speculation that she may suffer from an eating disorder. These accusations have been dismissed with a reply that the actress has a high metabolism. The most recent years have catapulted Selena into the spotlight for more than just her weight.

Selena has also been dating Justin Bieber, and when she was hospitalized in June of 2011, rumors swirled that she was pregnant with the heartthrob’s baby. However, a busy schedule paired with poor dietary habits and eating too much junk food sent her iron levels plummeting [2]. She was treated for a combination of exhaustion and food poisoning before being released with a warning to take vitamins and eat healthier.
